NanoStudio 2 is a robust music production software that provides synthesis, sampling, arranging, editing, and mixing capabilities. It is the successor to the highly respected NanoStudio app, which musicians have praised for its usability, quality, and productivity over the years.

NanoStudio 2 builds upon the design principles of its predecessor and introduces an extensive range of additional features. The all-new audio engine delivers professional-grade sound quality and is optimized to handle complex projects with numerous instruments and effects.

One notable feature is the ability to host external Audio Unit (AUv3) instruments and audio/MIDI effects. This allows for seamless integration and easy access to all AU instruments and presets, making them just as accessible as NanoStudio's internal instruments.

The built-in synth, Obsidian, offers remarkable versatility with its 3 oscillators, 32 note polyphony, and 7 synthesis methods including analog, wavetable, FM, multi-saw, and phase distortion. It also supports samples and multisamples that can be split by note or velocity. Obsidian boasts 18 filter types, including resonant analog, clean digital, formant, comb, and waveshaping. The synth's 5 envelopes, 5 LFOs, and 10 macro controllers allow for extensive modulation possibilities, which can be easily assigned. Additionally, there are 300 factory patches available with pre-set macros. Users can easily create their own patches and access professionally produced patches through in-app purchases.

Slate is another built-in instrument within NanoStudio 2. It is a sample/synthesis-based performance pad that simplifies drum beat creation. With 500 high-quality factory samples ranging from acoustic drums to cutting-edge electronic percussion and effects, Slate offers a wide range of creative possibilities. Users can also construct their own drum kits using the provided samples or their own samples of vocals, guitar riffs, synth pads, and more.

NanoStudio 2 features powerful editors for song arrangement, MIDI, automation, and samples. These editors share a consistent user interface, ensuring users can quickly navigate and start making music.

The software's fully-featured sequencer supports tempo and time signature tracks, including tempo ramps. It also includes Ableton Link for seamless synchronization with other compatible devices.

The mixer in NanoStudio 2 allows for unlimited tracks, track grouping, and audio/MIDI sends. Each track can have an unlimited number of insert effects, with 11 built-in effects such as reverb, sidechain compressor/expander, EQ with spectrum analysis, look-ahead limiter, delay, exciter, chorus, flanger, and phaser. Users can also add AU audio/MIDI effects to the chain and utilize them just like internal effects.

When it comes to mixdown options, NanoStudio 2 offers various choices with quality settings up to 32 bit/96kHz. It supports file formats including WAV, AIFF, OGG, and M4A. Users can mixdown track stems in a single operation or select specific regions of the song, which is particularly useful for resampling.

NanoStudio supports Audiobus for seamless integration with other compatible apps and offers multiple options for file sharing through the iOS Files app, Dropbox, AudioShare, iTunes File Sharing, AirDrop, email, WebDAV, and importing music from the iTunes library.

NanoStudio 2 provides an intuitive workflow that allows users to develop their initial musical ideas into a final master. With its extensive features and user-friendly design, musicians can efficiently bring their creative vision to life.
